The University of East Anglia (UEA)
and the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures
(SISJAC) wish to appoint a full-time indefinite Lecturer in
Contemporary Japanese Visual Media from 1 September 2008.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone at or near the beginning of
their career. The new post has been made possible by a grant from the
Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and is designed to support the
development of Japanese Studies in the UK.
The post holder will be based in SISJAC and will contribute to BA and
MA teaching in the School of Film and Television Studies and/or the
School of Political, Social and International Studies at UEA. There
will be less teaching than in some other Lectureships, with a greater
proportion of time devoted to research and related activities. The post
holder is likely to be a specialist in one or more of the following
areas: comic books, anime, film, television, photography, new and mass
media, and visual cultural resources.
